How to Help

Volunteer or Mentor

Thank you for your interest in donating your time and skills to Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA).

Volunteers support LSSNCA's work to welcome new neighbors, serve neighbors in need, and build a community of well-being where people thrive.

Volunteer and mentorship opportunities include:

Support LSSNCA’s sustainability efforts through ReFiber in Virginia

Volunteers can sign up to join a group production session hosted at the Resource Center. No special experience is required — just interest in hands-on, community-centered work. Mature youth who can follow instructions and use scissors safely can join, provided they are accompanied by adult supervision. Learn more about ReFiber.

Average time commitment: Flexible.

Group production sessions are 4 hours long, but volunteers can sign up for any length of time.

For individual volunteering opportunities with ReFiber, please email: ReFiber@lssnca.org
