Meet the Clinicians

Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA) provides evidence-based behavioral health services for individuals, couples, and families in our community.  

Meet the clinicians with experience providing services through a trauma-informed, culturally competent lens. They are available virtually through a secure telehealth platform in Spanish or English. 


Denise Angel, LCSW

Experience: 4+ years 
Languages Spoken: English, Spanish 

Denise Angel, LCSW, is a bilingual licensed social worker with experience supporting adolescents and adults experiencing trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. She provides individual and group therapy to clients as young as seven.  

Denise is committed to delivering culturally responsive and accessible care, supporting clients in identifying strengths, setting meaningful goals, and developing practical coping skills. Her strengths-based, integrative approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, meditation, and other evidence-based techniques to promote healing, resilience, and personal growth.  


Jessica Lopez Guerrero, LMSW

Experience: 3+ years

Jessica Lopez Guerrero, LMSW, is a bilingual behavioral health clinician with experience providing trauma-informed therapy to children, adolescents, and families.  

Jessica utilizes evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She takes a multidisciplinary, individualized approach to care, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, cultural background, and lived experience.  

Her clinical focus includes trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, family stress, migration-related concerns, and life transitions. Jessica works collaboratively with clients and families to build coping skills, strengthen resilience, and support long-term healing and emotional well-being. 


Sharnell Myles, LICSW, LCSW-C

Experience: 10+ years  
Languages Spoken: English 

Sharnell Myles, LICSW, LCSW-C, is a licensed clinical social worker with experience in behavioral health, child welfare, and family-centered services. She specializes in supporting children, adolescents, and families navigating complex emotional, behavioral, and systemic challenges.  

As a native Washingtonian, Sharnell has extensive experience across a range of settings, including child protection services, foster care, medical social work, short-term family housing, LGBTQ+ affirming services, and community-based behavioral health programs.  

Sharnell's approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive, with a strong emphasis on trust-building, emotional regulation, and long-term stability. She is deeply committed to providing accessible, high-quality behavioral health services that empower individuals and promote lasting change.  


Rocio Rodriguez-Morales, MSW

Experience: 15+ years 
Languages Spoken: English, Spanish 

Rocio Rodriguez-Morales, MSW, is a Clinical Supervisee in Social Work with over 15 years of experience providing services to children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse and underserved communities.  

Her clinical practice is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based care. Rocio utilizes evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused interventions, attachment-based approaches, psychoeducation, and emotional regulation skill-building. She has extensive experience working with foster youth, adjudicated youth, transition-age young adults, and individuals impacted by complex trauma. 

Rocio also brings specialized experience supporting military-connected individuals and families, with a clinical focus on deployment-related stressors, reintegration challenges, family system dynamics, and adjustment concerns. She practices under clinical supervision and is committed to ethical practice, collaboration, and supporting clients in building resilience, stability, and long-term well-being.
