Washington, D.C. - Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA) has appointed Kim Bolton to its board of directors.
Bolton has more than 20 years of experience as a communications executive. She specializes in creating and managing strategic messaging to amplify an organization's voice and vision while advancing legislative and regulatory goals.
As executive director of policy communications at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), Bolton developed and led strategies to effectively communicate with the White House, Congress and other key stakeholders on public policy priorities. Before joining BCBSA, Bolton began her career at the American Association of Health Plans (now AHIP), where she wrote advocacy pieces that appeared in national publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and USA Today.
Bolton is also a member of The Lutheran Church of St. Andrew, which is a strong congregational partner of LSSNCA.
"We are excited to welcome Kim to LSSNCA’s board of directors," said Kristyn Peck, CEO of LSSNCA. "She brings decades of experience advancing policies that promote quality, affordable health care for all. Creating communities of well-being where people thrive is LSSNCA’s vision, and Kim’s expertise will be critical as we build new programming focused on positively impacting upstream determinants of health."
LSSNCA is grateful for the expertise, leadership, and passion Bolton will bring to advancing the organization’s mission of serving communities across the greater Washington area.
