LSSNCA Welcomes Bishop-Elect Dr. Philip Hirsch

Washington, DC – Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA) congratulates Rev. Dr. Philip Hirsch on his election as the next bishop of the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We celebrate this moment with the Metro D.C. Synod and look forward to deepening our partnership under his experienced and visionary leadership. 

“As we welcome Bishop-elect Hirsch, we look forward to building upon the strong foundation of collaboration between LSSNCA and the Metro D.C. Synod,” said Kristyn Peck, CEO of LSSNCA. “Rev. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bishop Leila Ortiz for her steadfast advocacy, courageous leadership, and meaningful partnership. Her commitment to justice and inclusion has been a gift to LSSNCA and the wider community.
