Thank you for playing an integral role in our centennial anniversary and joining our LSS/NCA family for Into the Streets. Read descriptions of our events below and register for your preferred activity.

Activity Descriptions

Quilting With Love

Come help assemble quilts with some of our foster families! This will be a great time to get to know a bit more about our Foster Care program and visit with our foster families. Come learn along side our experienced quilters. Serve Boldly and help create a treasured blanket that will be donated to a child in need. No previous experience needed.

Reforming AIDS Stigma Workshop 

This interactive experience, led by youth, will teach participants about HIV-AIDS stigma as it impacts the daily lives of children, youth, and families in the Washington, DC region.  Through myth-busting, storytelling, and guided dialogue techniques, participants will increase their awareness of AIDS stigma and build skills to make their own faith communities more welcoming, compassionate and connected.

Welcome Home: Apartment Set-Up (REGISTRATION FULL)

When refugees come to the US they are fleeing war and persecution. They leave with nothing to find safety and new beginnings. Join us to set-up an apartment and give a refugee family a new home! This opportunity will include carrying furniture, cleaning, and decorating.
