Serve Boldly Scholarships
In celebration of 100 years of SERVING BOLDLY, Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area will award multiple scholarships for the 2017-2018 school year. For 100 years, LSS/NCA has served the most vulnerable children in our community, envisioning wholeness and justice for all. In that vision, the scholarships are intended to further the dreams and success of community members by awarding funds to further education in undergraduate or graduate institutions, or assist individuals in obtaining vocational training.
This year’s scholarship awards are:
LSS/NCA Bold Journey Scholarships (In an amount not to exceed) $10,000
Elizabeth Kreiser Weisburger Scholarship $3,500
Consideration for the award will be weighted towards a promising applicant who has demonstrated the ability to achieve in the face of adversity. The scholarship will enable him/her to pursue an undergraduate or graduate education and/or ensure skilled vocational employment at an accredited vocational school or 2 or 4 year college. (The Elizabeth Kreiser Weisburger Scholarship is given in honor of the life and work of Ms. Weisburger. Find more information about her here.)
