Writing Workshops

Sharpen Tools for Professional and Creative Writing

The ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas through writing is the one of the most valuable tools whether the  goal is to reflect, decompress, speak  one’s mind, or  accomplish a goal like getting a scholarship or job. From song lyrics to resume cover letters, many of the same writing skills are required. Wednesday Writing Workshop are small, youth-centered sessions where students explore different genres of non-fiction and fiction writing such as comics, plays, poetry, song, etc. In the process, students learn the writing skills needed for personal, professional, and academic life while working towards a final writing piece such as a college essay. We work with many different levels of writing, meeting students where they are and challenging them individually based on their specific needs.  Light lunch/Refreshments provided.
