Ms. Sue Zimmerman
"Many years ago, my husband and I adopted our daughter from Lutheran Social Services. We are forever grateful that our daughter came into our lives through the work of LSS and this motivates me to give back to others through the adoption, foster care, refugee resettlement and other programs of LSS. Lutheran Social Services truly walks with those in need and provides services that offer hope and rebuild lives."
Susan Heitmuller Zimmerman is a lifelong Washingtonian and supporter of Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area. Susan received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Valparaiso University and a MSW degree from Catholic University. Her area of professional expertise is child welfare having worked as a social worker in community mental health centers, private practice, adoptions, foster care, and child protective services. Susan and her husband, Larry, adopted their first child through LSS/NCA and a second child from Korea so the work of LSS/NCA is very important to them.
